The Influence We Have on Our Happiness

It's the unofficial start of summer, and the timing is PERFECT.  Have you felt the relief of even small amounts of normalcy? 

Each summer I try to be intentional about creating a small list of things that I want to do, but this year I'm bypassing that and truly just SAVORING the small stuff.

My mantra for the summer is going to be this quote from Walt Whitman,

"Happiness, not in another place, but in this place … not for another hour, but for this hour."  

I wish I could put this in flashing lights on every street corner as a big, bright reminder that we have more influence than we think when it comes to creating our own happy moments in the midst of all of the harsh realities of life. 

Happiness is hidden in this day and this hour, and I hope you find some of your own happy moments to savor this week.
