Figuring It Out and Moving Forward

The other day I ran to catch an elevator and then paused before stepping in and said to the man inside, “Do you mind if I get in with you?” “Sure,” he said putting an arm out to keep the door from closing, and then he looked me eye to eye and mask to mask and said, “I’m vaccinated.”

It was one of those What alternate reality am I living in? moments. It had nothing to do with the vaccine, but rather with the surreal moment of recognizing I could have never predicted someone uttering those words to me a year ago. In fact, if I could have seen into the future and watched the short elevator scene unfold, I would have been terrified.

But yet, here we are – figuring it out, moving forward, and sharing our vaccine history with anyone who with listen - resiliency whether we like it or not.

I'm wondering how you're feeling.

Hopeful or fearful?  Down or upliftedPlugged in and ready to go or staying under the covers and binge-watching

If you’re anything like me, it’s a mix, depending on the week, the day, or even the hour. The last year has been like an endless roller coaster ride, and I think we’re all at different parts depending on the day.

Wherever you are, I hope you’re doing ok. And if not, I hope you’re reaching out, finding help, being patient and kind to yourself, and remembering that you’re not alone.

I’ve been putting a lot of energy into staying inspired, filling my well with the things that feel like warmth and light. For me it means more music and less news, more guilty pleasures and less self-judging, more letting go and less worrying about things I can’t control.

What feels like warmth and light to you right now? I hope you do some of that this week.
