Tiny Acts of Self-Care

This week it rained – a wet, cold, bone-chilling rain. And while the rain isn’t always great, it was a nice opportunity to create a cozy atmosphere throughout the day.

I lit a candle while I worked, and you should have seen how proud I was of myself. It reminded me that it doesn’t take much to make me feel like I’m taking care of myself.

Doing something that you might only reserve for when you’re having people over, (like setting the lighting, burning a candle, playing a great playlist, using the fun dishes) signals to your soul that you are worth it.

I get a similar bump sometimes when I take myself to the doctor, get a haircut, fix something that’s been bugging me around the house, or declutter my closet, etc.

These tiny acts of self-care add up over time and help to keep my spirit strong when things get busy or don’t go as planned.

It’s a really good thing to take care of yourself. You don’t always have to wait. Do it now.
