Life is Here
Life is fill in the blank .
So what did you put? Good, bad, wonderful, awful, funny, serious, long, short, confusing, enlightening, hard, easy, joyful, cruel?
There are literally thousands of reasonable responses to fill in the blank each day, but this one is a favorite …
Life is HERE .
I don’t want to waste it.
I don’t want to waste it with worry, and overthinking, and being offended, and being distracted, and being absent, and being afraid, and being unwilling to face the fact that one day it won’t be HERE.
I’ve noticed something about myself lately. I talk a lot in terms of what I don’t want. See the above paragraph for an amazing example of this. So, I’ve been practicing flipping the script. Let’s try it.
Life is HERE .
I want to celebrate it.
I want to celebrate it by being hopeful, and satisfied, and peaceful, and connected, and present, and courageous and by showing up even when it's hard.
I have this prayer ...
let me lean in and embrace whatever today brings, let me see the miracle in the small moments, and let me be grateful for the HERE and NOW.
That might be a little deep for Saturday morning coffee, but it feels amazingly light writing it.
Wishing you more here and now this week.
